I first fell in love with Kiko early last year, I hadn't heard of the brand before until my sister, Meghan, had told me about it after shopping in the Stratford Westfield branch. I couldn't get over how much choice and colours they had, all in expensive looking packaging and low prices. I was instantly hooked!
I don't often like shopping for make up on the Internet, unless I know it's a colour I've tried and tested before but seeing as I don't get to Westfield very often and they had a huge sale on, I thought I would bite the bullet and treat myself to some items. As many of the items were reduced, it wasn't the end of the world if the colours turned up and I wasn't so keen.
I had so much more in my shopping basket but I took some out and saved them to a wish list. I'll probably buy those when I get paid again. I ended up buying quite a lot of items so I will post about some of my favourite bits.
I decided to purchase the Eyes Clics 24 palette. I had seen this before and now it was down to £6 I thought it was the right time to buy! I love an eye shadow palette and the beauty of this one is that you can slowly build up your collection and also buy the colours you know you will wear. Twenty four colours in one palette is so many and obviously not very convenient to carry about with you if you want to top up your make up on the go but thankfully all the colours come with an extra lid so you can take them out with you individually if you want to. The only thing I would do to improve the actual palette in itself would be to put a mirror in the top of the inside lid. Other than that, it is amazing value and perfect for someone like me who likes to try lots of different colours and looks.

This Colour Correction Powder is amazing, the four colours help to improve any skin discolouration and redness, helps to warm the complexion and brightens. I have found the powder is long lasting and helps keep my skin matte nearly all day, with sometimes just the occasional top up across my nose as it can get a bit shiny. I had never tried a colour correction powder before and didn't really know much about what they do but I have found it really does help to make my appearance look brighter, especially if I use a touch under my eyes. It doesn't feel heavy on the skin at all but it definitely does what it is supposed to without feeling as if you're caked in make up. This is probably a favourite powder for me out of all I have tried in the past. I would definitely buy it again, so much so I already had to, as annoyingly I smashed the powder after dropping it on tiled floor on holiday and I had only used it for all of about 2 weeks, I was so disappointed but I liked it that much I got another straight away! As you can see from the swatch photo, it blends in really easily and almost has a very slight creamy texture.
Lastly is now one of my favourite lippies, Velvet Mat - Satin Lipstick 614 Dark Berry. This lipstick goes on so smoothly and although it is matte it doesn't feel too dry. I also have 613 Pink Carnation which feels just as nice on the lips and is a good everyday type colour. Dark Berry is a lovely deep red, almost burgundy. I do like a traditional red but I find these deeper, darker tones seem to suit me better. The colour is pretty long lasting and doesn't leave you with that lip liner type look you get with some lipsticks once it starts to wear off. I can't stand when that happens as I'm constantly checking in the mirror to make sure I haven't just got the remains of lipstick around the outline of my lips! The packaging is to die for, as I have mentioned before on a previous post, I love anything holographic! The packaging feels nice and sturdy too, with it taking me probably slightly too long trying to work out when I first got it how it opens! (In case you are wondering, you simply press down on the top of the lid and it pops down and out!)
Overall, I am very pleased with my Kiko purchases, buying colours online was worth the gamble and I will certainly be making more purchases soon. I want to try everything now!
Have you tried Kiko? What did you think? Leave a comment :)
