Edinburgh Day One

Edinburgh Castle
It was very windy!

Edinburgh Castle

What I'm wearing-
Coat- New Look Scarf- Topshop Jeans- Topshop
Bag- Longchamp

For half term, we decided to travel up to Edinburgh for a long weekend as we had never been before. We got the train from St Pancras station and arrived in a very windy Edinburgh four hours later and headed straight for our hotel as we were all extremely tired.

The next day, we had a full day of sight seeing planned. First, we took a stroll up to Edinburgh castle. It was very windy up there (as you can tell from the photos)! After looking around the castle, we decided to go on an open top bus tour which was very interesting and we learnt a lot from our guide about the history of Edinburgh. We then had a wander around the shops.

In the evening, we went to dinner at a really nice Indian. The food was so good! After a long day we headed back to our hotel.

I will post day two of Edinburgh soon.

What are you doing for half term? :)

Student Night!

Last week my local shopping centre, Bluewater held a student night. Most of the stores joined in giving customers money off their items. Some shops offered free stuff including drinks, food and vouchers. Everyone who had applied to attend the night had to have a wristband. I arrived really early and decided to stand in the queue for Superdry to receive a free goody bag. In my goody bag I received a pair of blue flip flops with the RRP of £16.99. All the shops had their music really loud like a night club & there were DJs dotted around the centre playing music & giving out free popcorn and drinks. Another shop which was giving out freebies was the Vans store & Urban Outfitters. Vans gave out free Pizza Hut pizzas and Urban Outfitters were giving out beer or orange juice & Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Most of the shops had 10% to 30% off their items. I needed to buy some more Vans but none of the colours or patterns took my fancy in the main shop so I headed to Office. I tried on a few pairs and then decided I wanted to buy the high top black daisy Vans at an RRP of over £50 but because of the student night I was able to get them for £32...bargain!! 😉 The daisy Vans are really me, as I love floral patterns! They are not too summery so great to wear this winter too. I also went into New Look and spent a fortune in there buying two lovely outfits! An electric blue top with a gold tassel necklace attached and a black skort to wear with it. I also bought a teal coloured frilly scallop top with a plain burgundy skirt to go with it. Finally, I had to go to one of my fave shops, Topshop! I headed to the night wear department and bought some Little Mermaid pyjamas. I also got a black and white polka dot top with a Peter Pan collar and a bow at the back. There was some lovely winter items in stock at Topshop so go and check out some of the bits!

Nike Iridescent Premium QS Blazers

I'm not particularly a trainer person, I would usually much rather buy some huge platform boots with a cleated sole or a classic pair of loafers. However when I first saw someone post a promo shot of the Nike Iridescent Premium QS Blazers I could not stop thinking and swooning over them! I am a magpie when it comes to holographic or iridescent items, I literally was about to chew my own arm off to get myself a pair of the Topshop holographic Argo boots last winter and thankfully my boyfriend bought me them for Christmas. So obviously when I saw these Nike trainers I simply had to have them! Only problem being that they were limited edition and everyone and their mum's cousin's friend's girlfriend wanted them too! So you get what I'm saying, that is a lot of people. Too many for my liking! They sold out pretty quick in America and having looked through eBay I could see plenty of people selling them on at ridiculous prices. I know this angers and annoys many but to be fair I would definitely do the same if I knew I could make almost triple what they actually cost.

Anyway, so realease day in the UK was set and then reset to a different date and I was getting all antsy wondering if I would be lucky to get myself a pair. So finally on the morning of release day I tweeted Nike to which they kindly responded back with the link directly to them on their website. I sat in a queue waiting patiently for my size 4s, thinking I'll get lucky and after 25 minutes my basket refreshed and told me that my size was out of stock. Aghhhh! So I naturally went to check size 4.5, 5 and at a push 5.5 but everything had gone! I was upset because I wanted them so bad but I kind of expected this mass shoe hysteria.

For me my next step was of course eBay. I did do a post on it before and I rely on the auction site for pretty much everything that I want! I did manage to grab myself a pair from a seller who clearly got lucky and had around four pairs in different sizes for sale. I did pay slightly more than double the RRP what with shipping too but do you know what, I don't care! I am so in love with these trainers and I am not lying when I tell you that the night before I went to go and collect them from the post office (having missed the delivery), I genuinely had a dream about them!

They're perfect and eye catching and most people who've seen me in them have loved them like I do! I know they're not for everyone but I always think it's good that people have different tastes and styles. I am the sort of person that generally doesn't really care if someone doesn't like what I'm wearing anyway! I plan to wear these with as many outfits as possible and so I can justify the cost of them! Maybe I'll do a post soon on how to style them with different looks.

So what are your thoughts? Love or loathe?

Ahh look at the pretty colours!
